BOISE, Idaho – The US#3 North Central WA boys made an impressive statement that they’ll contend for their second Nike Cross Nationals championship this year (not to mention being likely the best in Washington and the Northwest) with a resounding 47-point performance. They finished 80 points ahead of Arcadia CA, which was coming off a huge win themselves at Woodbridge last weekend.

North Central was led by runner-up Kai Wilmot (15:06.35), with Tanner Anderson (fifth, 15:32.10) and Keith Williams (10th, 15:50.89) also in the top 10.

North Central won the 2008 NXN title, while Arcadia was triumphant in 2010.

MORE HIGHLIGHTS

** Seattle Prep WA jr Joe Hardy won the battle of Washington juniors who went sub-9 for 3,200 last spring as sophs, topping the above-mentioned Wilmot, 15:03.01 to 15:06.35. Not far behind was Park City UT sr Ben Saarel in 15:08.26.

** North Central WA sr Katie Knight claimed the girls’ Varsity Elite title in 17:59.46, topping Utah standouts Summer Harper of Orem (18:10.25) and Shea Martinez of Davis (18:13.43).

** The Davis UT girls, like the NC boys, were also decisive champions, scoring 65 to defeat Park City UT (108), Skyline UT (130) and Rocky Mountain ID (also 130).
