Utah powers Davis and American Fork clash on the girls side in one of the leading storylines of the Bob Firman Invitational at Eagle Island State Park in Idaho.
Davis and American Fork have finished as the top two at the Utah Class 5A state meet the past four years in a row. And this fall, they are both ranked in the top five of the NXN Southwest region -- American Fork is No. 3, Davis is No. 5.
Both Utah powers will also get a rare in-season chance to go against Jesuit of Portland, the Northwest region No. 2 team.
Individually, the lead pack should include Kate Hunter from Provo, McKenna Lee from Weber and Eve Jensen from Boise -- as well as others from the three strong teams listed above.
On the boys side, Southwest No. 2 Davis faces a good test against Northwest No. 2 Crater, NW#3 Bellarmine Prep, NW#4 Jesuit and NW#5 North Central. Also, California No. 8 Madera South is in the mix as well.
Individually, Weber's Talon Hull, McQueen NV's Henry Weisberg, Pocatello ID's Malachi Armstrong, Madera South's Miguel Villar, Jesuit's Josh Schumacher, Crater's Andy Monroe and Davis' Josh Peters are among the top names in the field. More news |
