The girl's JV1 competitors on the Fox Trail section of the Bob Firman 5k course at Eagle Island State Park. Due to the large number of competitors (340) the girl's JV division was contested in two different races.
The Timberlake (Spirt Lake, Idaho) girls and head coach, Shawn Lawler, show off their hardware for winning the girl's small school divison (schools with less than 800 students) at the Bob Firman Invitational on September 27, 2009. Timberlake placed four girls in the top twenty out of a field of 153 runners and 20 scoring teams.
The Bob Firman 5k course at Eagle Island State Park is considered fan-friendly with many viewing spots to follow a race. This person found a nontraditional way to take in the elite boys race.

Gig Harbor, Washinton's Conner Peloquin, Highland (Pocatello, Idaho) sophomore Dallin Farnsworth, and Rock Spring, Wyoming's Garret Zans gap the pack on the second loop of the Bob Firman 5k course. They would hold their positions over the remaining 800 meters of the race with Peloquin taking the title in a time of 15:39.80.
Eagle, Idaho senior Liz Brandon, North Central's (Spokane, Washington) Katie Knight, and Orem, Utah's Summer Harper take the early lead at the start of the elite girl's division at the Bob Firman Invitational. Brandon would win the race in 18:38.2, Harper would finish third and Knight fourth.
Elko, Nevada's Eric Sandall is the first to reach the beach section in the Bob Firman boy's large school division. Sandall would go on to win the race in 16:21.98, followed by Mountain Crest's (Hyrum, Utah) Brayden Mickelson and Kuna, Idaho's Michael Gordon.

The crowd cheers on Bishop Kelly's (Boise, Idaho) Emily Nist and Orem, Utah's Summer Harper as they finish the elite girl's race at the Bob Firman Invitational. Nist placed second with a time of 18:43.21 and Harper was .37 seconds back for third.
